This is
Coconut, a two-year-old male llama. Llamas can weigh up to
300 lbs., have a long coarse coat and stand almost 6 ft. tall.
They have been domesticated for some 5,000 years now and were
historically used as beasts of burden. Now, with the advent
of trucks and other vehicles, the llamas are found on farms
serving as guard sentries to protect shepherds' flocks. Some
people who are spinners and like to weave their own clothes
as a hobby also own llamas. Their fleece is still popular
for making the warmest of sweaters and blankets.
